FAQ

Permanent Makeup FAQ for Houston & Rosenberg

These are the real questions my clients ask before booking brows, lip blush or eyeliner. I want you to feel fully informed, safe and confident – before you ever sit in my chair.

Brows – Ombré, Microblading & Hybrid

How long do ombré / powder brows last?
Most clients in Houston / Rosenberg enjoy their ombré brows for about 1.5 – 3 years before they want a color boost. Oily skin, sun exposure, skincare acids and lifestyle can make them fade a bit faster. Very dry, careful clients sometimes get even longer.
How long does microblading last?
Pure microblading typically lasts around 12–18 months depending on skin and aftercare. In oily or textured skin, strokes can blur sooner. This is why I often recommend ombré or hybrid brows instead of full microblading for most Houston clients.
Is the procedure painful?
I use high-quality numbing to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe the feeling as minor scratching or pressure, not sharp pain. You may feel more in certain areas (like the front of the brow), but I work in layers and check on you often.
What is your booking fee and why is it non-refundable?
A $52 booking fee is required to secure your appointment. It includes the small card processing cost and is applied toward your final total. Because I reserve that time just for you and prepare everything in advance, the fee is non-refundable.
Do you fix or cover old brows from another artist?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If your previous brows are very dark, thick, red, blue or uneven, we may need lightening or removal before we can create a beautiful new shape. Please send me clear photos in natural light before booking so I can honestly tell you what is possible.
Can I choose my brow color?
We choose your color together, based on your natural hair, skin undertone and daily makeup. I do not use one “standard dark brown” on everyone. The goal is to match your face, not just the color in the bottle.

Lip Blush & Lip Neutralization

What is lip blush?
Lip blush is a semi-permanent tattoo that gives your lips a soft, tinted color. It is not heavy lipstick. Once healed, it looks like a sheer stain or tinted balm, helping your lips look more even, defined and naturally pretty.
How long does lip blush last?
Most lip blush clients enjoy their color for about 2–3 years before they want a refresh. Smoking, sun exposure, frequent exfoliation and certain medications can make lip color fade faster.
What is lip neutralization?
Lip neutralization is for clients with darker lips, cool tones, or uneven color. Instead of adding a bright pink right away, we first use special pigments to gently shift the undertone. This usually requires more than one session and must be done slowly and safely.

Eyeliner Tattoo FAQ

Can I still wear regular eyeliner after eyeliner tattoo?
Yes. The tattoo gives you a base line that makes your eyes look defined even with no makeup. On special occasions, you can still apply makeup on top – just avoid heavy products during the healing period.
Is eyeliner tattoo safe for everyone?
Not always. If you have very sensitive eyes, certain eye conditions, frequent styes or recent eye surgery, you may not be a good candidate. We will review your history and if needed, I may ask you to get clearance from your eye doctor before booking.

Healing, Aftercare & Touch-Ups

What does healing look like?
The first 1–3 days, your brows or lips will look darker and more defined. Around days 3–7, they may feel tight, dry or slightly flaky. After the flaking stage, the color often looks too light for a short time, then slowly returns. This is all normal – full healing can take 4–8 weeks depending on the area.
Will I need a touch-up?
Many clients do 1 perfecting session to fine-tune color and shape after the first procedure heals. Some services include or recommend this, especially for neutralization or more complex cases. We will discuss what is best for you based on how your skin holds pigment.
What can I not do after my procedure?
For best results, you should avoid:
  • Heavy sweating, sauna, steam room and swimming while healing
  • Picking, scratching or peeling the area
  • Active skincare (acids, retinol) directly on the brows or lips
  • Sunbeds and unprotected sun exposure
I will give you a clear, printed or digital aftercare guide so you don’t have to remember everything.

Safety & Who Is Not a Good Candidate

Who is not a good candidate for permanent makeup?
You may not be a good candidate if you are:
  • Pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Currently on Accutane or recent strong acne medications
  • Prone to keloids in the area we would tattoo
  • With uncontrolled diabetes or serious health issues without doctor clearance
If you are unsure, please message me privately so we can discuss your situation.
Is it safe if I have diabetes or a medical condition?
Many clients with diabetes or other conditions can safely do permanent makeup, but it must be carefully evaluated. Skin can heal slower or differently. I may ask for doctor clearance and will always be honest if I feel the procedure is not safe or realistic for you.
